This article covers fitment and tech help for the Tri-Spark Triple ignition kits.

 

There are several versions of this ignition now in the field. We will provide PDF links to instructions as well as tech tips for each variant.

All Tri-Spark Triple ignitions should use 5K ohm resistor plug caps. These filter electrical noise/ interference making things run more smoothly.

 

JRC 17-127: TRI-0001 – Tri-Spark Triple – Original Black box system

The system that started it all.

This is not a wasted spark system – all the spark energy is focused on one cylinder at a time resulting in superior all round performance.

Each plug is independently fired from a 12 volt Lucas style coil

Proven reliable and still sought after by many triple enthusiasts. We still offer replacement trigger plates and rotors.

This system is no longer available for sale. Many are still in use and may require the instructions at some point:

JRC 17-127A: TRI-0002 – Tri-Spark Triple – Under Cover system

All under cover design which replaced the original black box system. It has all the features and more compact design. Now on their Mark 2 version offering  upgraded to ignition timing and responsiveness. Improved throttle response, better fuel efficiency, and a smoother ride overall.

JRC 17-127B: TRI-0003 – Tri-Spark Triple Flex

Wasted spark version of the undercover TRI-0002 ignition. This kit gives flexibility on coils. You are no longer limited to 12v Lucas style coils. You get the simplicity of  wasted spark and the power of single fire systems.
