I have started my latest project. I was intrigued by the photo of Freddie Clarke’s Speed Twin racer from 1939 and thought it might be fun to build a tribute bike. Seems strange to build a bike around a pair of silencers but years ago we had a batch of Brookland Cans made and they just didn’t click with anybody. And then a picture of a race bike with a cocky young man astride and fitted with Brookland Cans. Well I just have to do that. I have a 47 speed twin engine and a 1941 3HW chassis, yes I know the 3HW was a lighter duty frame/forks but this will be a slow speed tribute, not a real racer. Pictures of progress to follow. I hope to do the whole project for less than $4000.
